Linux Bind DNS name expressions

hi all

i have centos working with bind as dns server

I'm asking about the expressions if it is possible or not

say i want to match expression on any name that contain "proxy"

i tired the expression below and it didn't work

zone "*proxy*" {
type forward;
forwarders {8.8.8.8;};
};

i just put my word between * and *

but it don't match www.whatisyproxy.com

the question is how can i match www.proxy.org
and whatismyproxy.org

or any domain contain proxy word

why the expressions

zone "*proxy*" {

not working ??

cheers

That will never work as BIND was never designed for that purpose.

You might want to look at packet inspection at the firewall level to detect such requests.
