help me with simple postfix config: send/receive email at one address

all i want to do is send and receive email at one address, for example sales@example.com

if i ssh into example.com and log in as 'sales', i can type something like `sendmail -t my@other.email` and the emails show up at my@other.email with the correct FROM address, so the server is partially configured.

however anything sent to sales@example.com bounces with the message:

Relay access denied (in reply to RCPT TO command)

all postfix tutorials i can find are over my head and consist mostly of details on things i don't need. can anyone help?

any basic postfix configuration that will let me send/receive email at a single account would be appreciated

thanks for the help, guys. i ended up using this guide yesterday, and i figured i should come back and post it here:

https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Po...asicSetupHowto

i set up a unix system account for the user name and password i wanted. i also set "mynetworks" to only allow localhost and the class C that i intend to connect from, to prevent others from using the smtp server.
