I have been googling for a week and cannot find exactly what I am looking for.
I am trying to set a FTP server with a mysql / text / ini file back end.
My goal is to have a DB with username, password and home directory and possibly permissions.
Doing an 'adduser' with username, password and home directory with no ssh login access works perfectly but my server may have 1,000's of user accounts and I want to have them seperated from the system accounts for security and backing up.
I have used serv-U that has an ini file that does this perfectly that does this, including access permissions.
I have setup several FTP server but all have the default home dir like /users/home/$USER.
I need my users to have more control by assigning other users to subdirectories of their 'home' accounts and possibly permissions.
Once I can get this to work, I can write a gui for the users to set the accounts.
