I want to set up FreeIPA for my
home network. One server and a few clients, tablets, phones... One instance, no replicas.
The base server provides quite a range of services; firewall, PPPoE, DNS, DHCP, NTP, httpd (static, owncloud, mediawiki, wordpress, ...), dovecot, postfix, libvirt, mariadb, mythtv...
Most services run SELinux confined.
I am intending to use a fresh Fedora 24 installation once it is released. Currently F22 with F23 VM "playpen".
"More servers" is not an option on my budget.
The big question is: Should I install FreeIPA on the base machine or run a dedicated VM?
Changing after installation could be problematic!
Any advice appreciated.
