Default Config for IPP

Why is printers used in the connect string in the following

DeviceURI ipp://steamboy:631/printers/lp

from /etc/cups/printers.conf on a Kubuntu 8.04 client?

I would prefer to know why something is configured the way it is, rather than blindly rely on a gui. However, I needed to use Kubuntu 8.04's printer interface to connect to a second Linux box (Ubuntu 9.10) running CUPS, because I could not find what the ipp string should be.

tnx
