Hello,
I am trying to solve BrightStor ARCServe related problems, which are suspected to be present since the root filesystem got filled up.
We are speaking about CA BrightStor ARCserve Backup Agent for UNIX/Linux r11.1 (build 1668) A6.1015082604 (according to some log), running on a Red Hat Enterprise Linux ES release 3 (Taroon Update 1)
AFAIK ARCserve relies upon an Ingres DB.
The /opt/CA/ingresii/ingres/files/errorlog.log file mentions a licensing issue on the one hand.
I found out that the licensing entries have been occurring quite a long time (several months).
The problems I am trying to resolve are known to be present for two weeks or longer. A reboot of the server has been done two weeks ago.
At least since then the BrightStor web interface at port 6060 is not accessible anymore.
I performed a
mv /opt/CA/ingresii/ingres/data/default/cadbase/aaaaabdi.t00 /usr/data/move (which is on another file system).
and I took care of the creation of a symbolic link towards the physical location of aaaaabdi.t00.
By doing so, I obtained a couple of GB free on the root file system.
A cstart seems to hang on ‘Starting the recovery Server’:
[root@srvbibvubis log]# cstart

Please wait for all services to start. This may take a few minutes...

A reboot didn’t result in progress.
I went searching on the web, and encountered among others:

Further searching lead me to the errorlog.log file, from which I provide the latest entries:

Oh yes, a 'verifydb' only reports a warning:
'ERLOOKUP failure. This utility will probably exit silently'
./infodb reports:
infodb: line 22: II_SYSTEM: parameter null or not set
Since I am no ARCserve/Ingres expert, and I only ocasionally have to deal with ARCserve, I would appreciate all usefull comments/hints.
Upon eventually providing feedback, please keep in mind that detailed instructions might be necessary.
