apache2 on debian etch: SSL not working

hi there,

i'm trying to set up a ssl-vhost beside of a working non-ssl one.
netstat says:
tcp 0 0 xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:443 0.0.0.0:* LISTEN 0 16784248 22731/apache2

so ssl seems to be running.
the apache error.log says:
[Thu May 31 13:44:06 2007] [error] [client 172.16.1.2] Invalid method in request \x16\x03\x01

what to do here?

thanks,

toby

Please check your virtual hosts configuration. It seems to be a vhost configuration error. You may have also <VirtualHost *> for the non-ssl vhosts. Inthat case change it to look like <VirtualHost *:80>. Pay attention to all lines of the virtualhost.
