squid cache system configuration

Hi,

I have redhat linux 9 and squid installed on it. I have three cache directories on my filesystem

The size of each varies --

/cache0 600 MB
/cache1 1024 MB
/cache2 900 MB

I have checked that all the 3 directories the disk space utilization same, does that mean the squid copies same files to all the three directories or does it keep different files on all the directories.

Is there any way wherein I can tell squid to use the /cache0 directory and if the /cache0 diretory is full it should use /cache1 and so on....

Please help.

Regards,
Raja

It will spread them over all three caches...

There is an option for cache_replacement_policy.
Each of those behaves differently, but mostly around which old files to remove when space is required...

More info on the website www.squid-cache.org, esp http://www.squid-cache.org/Doc/FAQ/FAQ-9.html
