prelude IDS and ssl issues

I have installed the Prelude RPMs and the software is up and running. The software automatically compiles with SSL support. I downloaded and installed the SSL package, but when I go to register the sensor in Prelude, I get the following message:

sensor add-user: Can't find library libssl.so.0

Could someone please tell me what I am doing wrong. I have followed the Preulde documentation to a tee, and still no joy. PLEASE HELP ME!!!!

Should be a symlink to /usr/lib/libssl.so.0.9.5a?
Any make configure switches forgotten or make errors?

Whats the best thing in prelude IDS? I heard theres a lot of features this program provide?
