Madatory Auto Logoff and shutdown wanted
I've got a small network of computers running SUSE 9.1 Pro all connected to a Windows XP server.
Is there anyway 1) To FORCE users to have to re-login / enter a password if the computers have been idle for 30 mins ( or any specific time). I know that the screensavers can implement this feature but is there anyway this can be done automatically -- we don't always have the most knowledgeable users.
2) after 19.00 hrs if a machine hasn't been used for 30 mins ( or any other specific length of time) is there an automatic way of making the machine shutdown and switch off. If this is not possible at the minimum I'd like the machine to at least be logged off from the network.
The Server needs to be up most of the time so shutting the server down is not really an option.
I'm finding out it's much harder actually running a productive network than fixing tech problems.
Thanks
