Yum not working

Hi ,

Using CentOS 8.3 version In That YUM is notworking ....saying that
Failed to download metadata for repo 'appstream':cannot prepare internal mirrorlist:No URLs in mirrorlist.

As Frankbell said, Centos 8.x is EOL since last year.
You basically have 3 options :

1. go upstream to Centos-Stream (precursor to RHEL)
2. go RHEL (& pay)
3. go to a replacement for the former-downstream CentOS eg Rocky Linux or Alma Linux.

4. Switch to Debian. We migrated all our CentOS 8 servers to Debian last year.

CentOS 8 continues as e.g. Rocky Linux 8.
