Wireless adapter hard blocked on Alpine Linux

Hi, I'm trying to get wireless to work on my new Alpine Linux installation on a Dell Latitude E6420. Following the Alpine Wiki on getting WiFi to work, it directs me to use iwd and get it set up from there. However, upon listing my wireless devices with
Code:
# iwctl device list
, it tells me that my only wireless adapter, phy0 is "powered off" thus I can't use it. Running
Code:
# rfkill list
gives me the status of two devices, dell-wifi and phy0, of which phy0 is hard blocked. I realise that most laptops such as mine have a physical switch to toggle the WiFi on and off, but actuating the switch only blocks and unblocks dell-wifi, with phy0 staying blocked. The switch doesn't actually make a difference in my GNOME session but it worked when I was configuring wireless for my previous plasma desktop in the same distro. Now I am at a loss on what to do, please advise. Any help is greatly appreciated.
