Post Why my Linux is Slow?


Hello.
Sometimes my Linux is very Slow and HDD LED is always Red and show that HDD working a lot. How can I find why HDD is working a lot? Which command can help me?

You can use iotop to determine which process is causing the issue.

It sounds like your problem might be that it's swapping a lot. How much RAM do you have?

I have 4GB Ram but I opened a Doc file and it use all of my memory.

How big was the file? What office software did you use?

If it used all of your RAM, then it sounds like the problem was almost definitely that it was swapping.

The .doc file was about 15 MB and I use LibreOffice.
