Why does it take so long to become a registered member here?

Seriously. I just want to vote.

if you're serious you should realyl describe what you mean by that. It takes no longer to sign up there than any other forum. Voting without taking a larger part in the LQ community doesn't seem that logical to me. The polls done here, even for annual awards, are for members who are already taking a part, not to be signed up for in their own right.

It realy seems to me that you must be joking..........when I signed up it was as fast as could be expected, I was a member in a short period of time able to post etc. etc. Your posting, which means that you are a member.

You've been registered nearly a year now and only 3 posts, I think there is a minimal amount of posts required before you can vote, you'll need to be a little more active on the forums to be given the privilege of voting.

Just for completeness and future reference, you must have a postcount of 1 or higher to be able to vote in the annual Member's Choice Awards.
