Redhat 6 is years beyond EOL(End OF Life), it is no longer supported. Once RedHat hit RH9 (support dropped in 2004) they changed to RHEL and are now at RHEL5.1. Save yourself a ton of needless headaches and switch to a supported version. Fedora is the development veriosn of Centos and current supported versions for it are F7 and F8. Support for F7 will drop when F9 is released (May?). Another alternative is Centos. Centos is RHEL with the logos removed, it will run RHEl binaries (version matched). It is freed to download.
