wget, links, command not found. installing virtually from SystemRescueCD

I am installing gentoo virtually by booting from SystemRescueCD. The virtual machine tool is Virtual Box and my operating system is windows 7 ultimate 64 bit.

I have succeed with create partitions, mount, create directory. The next step I have to do is to download the "Stage Tarball" and I am getting a problem. I can NOT download or view the websites by using command "links", "link2" and "wget". It "says command not found" for "links" and "input/output error" for "wget"

I am following the Gentoo installation handbook on step 5.b. http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/handboo...?part=1&chap=5
But it seems the handbook can not solve my problem.

I have to install gentoo virtually by booting it from SystemRescueCD. Please do NOT giving any suggestions like "don't boot from SystemRescueCD coz it's bad." or "boot by other way". These suggestion might help, but it's banned from my teacher...

5b tells you to use a cli browser and visit a page.
links http://www.gentoo.org/main/en/mirrors.xml
or
lynx http://www.gentoo.org/main/en/mirrors.xml
It tells you to navigate here
http://mirror.mcs.anl.gov/pub/gentoo/releases/amd64/autobuilds/
and
Quote:
There you should see all available stage files for your architecture (they might be stored within subdirectories named after the individual subarchitectures). Select one and press D to download. When you're finished, press Q to quit the browser.
Quote:
Make sure you download a stage3 tarball
Such as
Code:
wget http://mirror.mcs.anl.gov/pub/gentoo/releases/amd64/autobuilds/current-install-amd64-minimal/stage3-amd64-20120621.tar.bz2
Checksum it, untar it, etc.

The directions assume that you have links lynx and wget working.

http://linux.die.net/man/1/lynx
http://linux.die.net/man/1/wget
http://linux.die.net/man/1/md5sum
