videocard and soundcard

ok I'm really really new at using linux and I don't really know much about using it.
I have Fedora 4 installed. For my soundcard, I have a Soundblaster Audigy 2 ZS. Fedora detects I have this but when I do the sound test, I don't hear anything.

I have a NVIDIA Geforce6800 GT for my videocard. I downloaded the drivers for linux.
I do 'sh filenamehere' and I get a message saying to get out of x terminal or sometihng like that. How do I go about doing this?

Hi!

If you want to install software under Linux, you must be root. To execute a program under Linux in the current directory, use:
Code:
./filename
About your soundcard:
I think you don't have a driver for your card. You may need to recompile your kernel. Which kernel version and distribution are you using? If you don't know, type this at the terminal:
Code:
uname -a
