So I shouldn't use cron to execute a mp3? I was searching for a task scheduler and just came across it and thought that it might work out but I guess not. What is mymp3? What should I use in my case?

cron and at are fine ... xmms isn't

Alright things make a little more sense to me, thanks tink. I still need alot of reading up on nix I'm trying to get away from Windows completely. I'll see what I can do once I get a console based mp3 player. An recomendations on one?

I use mplayer, I think there's a console plugin for xmms

I got it working. I downloaded mpg321 and set a crontab for it to run and it did! Thank you. Now I just need to kknow how to stop the damn thing. Thanks alot everyone.
