updating linux linpus lite

I have an Acer Aspire One obtained around 2 years ago with Linpus Lite installed.

I am having problems as most applications are now in outdated versions - and I suspect my Linpus Lite is also an old version

I am entirely bemused in my attempts to get updates - even from some threads seen on here.

I gather its not me but the OS that won't let me download and install update versions - certainly, I cannot even "check for updates". I have downloaded update versions of Flash player 10 but then got nowhere.

I've been using computers since PCs started in the 80's but have little technical knowledge.

Can anyone help?
Thanks

you can go to the linpus web site
but basically you do not

the "Linpus Lite" net books were considered an "appliance " and you do not update your toaster

you can install a REAL operation system
something like Linux Mint ( the Debian family )
or CentOS 6 ( in the red hat family )

Linpus Lite was based on the now VERY dead fedora 8 ( also in the red hat family )

when Linpus Lite cam out ,fedora 8 that is was based on was ALREADY an unsupported version .

There are newer versions of Linpus Lite (they are back in development), so if you like Linpus just go to their site and download the newest version.
