unable to print file


Hello,
After adding a remote IP printer ,the printer print successfully the test page,but when i tried to do :lp -dprintername filename
the following error occured:

unable to print file: client-error-document-format-not-supported - msg

What do you try to print?

Did you try with a simple text file?

I am trying to print a report file generated by oracle.
When trying with a simple text file there is no problem

Haha...

Then maybe you would need to tell your printer in which format you send the file ex: PS, RAW, etc...
But I'm not the expert here.

I noticed that inside the report file there is escape sequence like :^L^R
If i remove the escape sequence i can print the file correctly.
I there a way to let linux support escape sequence?
