Unable to install mysql community release on RHEL 9

I have downloaded the rpm of mysql for RHEL9 which I am running in an Oracle virtual box. when I try to install it using yum, I get two error messages:
Can not load RPM file: mysql80-community-release-el9-5.noarch.rpm and
Could not open: mysql80-community-release-el9-5.noarch.rpm

I have tried yum localinstall from the root account and also
sudo yum install from my user account and I get the same message.

Any help on this will be most appreciated!

Did you use the instructions at the mysql site which seem pretty detailed. You might check what they suggest and compare it to your notes of what you did.

Thanks for your timely help..
I realized the Downloads directory was not on my PATH statement, so I simply executed the yum localupdate command from the Downloads directory and it worked!

Please mark the thread solved (from the Thread Tools drop-down).
Yes. The errors were saying that yum could not find the rpm file. Alternatively, you could have accomplished this by giving the absolute path to the file to yum.
