Question Unable to get on line using pppd and lynx or links

I am receive "unable to find host" message trying to start lynx.
This the steps I take to try and get online with lynx or links.
1. Start minicom
2. Give my modem the ATDT# dial command
3.Wait for connect and login prompt from my isp
4.Log on - everything is fine up to this point
5.After logging on I press Ctr-A Z and q for quit without reset
6.At command line I type pppd
7.Then I type lynx and get the unable to find host error
If anyone happens to know what I am doing wrong please advise
me so I can correct the problem or find what I am doing wrong
Note: I can connect and do this in KDE and I have but I have a
specific reason for wanting to get online in text mode with my
other Pentium 200Mhz - 32 Mb RAM computer

set up my ppp otions file as such:

0.0.0.0:
/dev/modem
lock
crtscts
asyncmap 0
mtu 552
mtu 552

my resolv.conf file reads as such:

search aaahawk.com
nameserver number
nameserver number

Any help would be appreciated
Two emails:
Wiley1@joimail.com
HdrCyt1@aol.com
Thanks
