Question Ubuntu 12.04 LTS installed, Asus laptop, Canon printer & Canon scanner not working.

My first experience with Linux, thanks for bearing with a new user.
Recently installed Ubuntu 12.04 LTS onto my Asus K701J Series Laptop.
Printer is Canon Pixma IP4200, Scanner is Canon CanoScan 4200F, cannot get either to work.
Also Trendnet TE100-P1U print server not working, tried to setup printer both directly attached as well as thru the print server with no success either way.
Webcam picture is upside down when using Skype, right side up with Cheese.
Aside from those problems mentioned above, Ubuntu seems to be working very well.

Peripherals like printers will not work unless there is a driver for them, simple as that. I'd suggest checking the Canon web site to see if they have one. If you do have drivers, or the device is supported, you need to post more detail about what is happening.

Also check the Ubuntu Wiki as they have a list of supported Canon hardware and the steps necessary to download and install the drivers.
