Trying to install fedora 5 ppc on Mac Xserve

I have the dvd version of fedora 5 ppc but the xserve will not boot to it. I also happen to have the 1st disk of yellow dog linux and it will boot to that. My problem is that I dont know how to get it to boot to the Fedora 5 dvd and if I need to create a special boot disk can you tell me what it is and then the commands to use to get the fedora 5 ppc dvd loaded and installed?

Thanks in advance.

That's that slick 1U rack mount powermac right (Drool.) Did you try holding down the 'C' or 'option' key while booting (push and hold when you here the chime usually does it.) Some macs don't want to boot off cd. C tells is to boot from cd. Option should give you a choice of drives. sometimes these won't work either if thats the case I can help you go int openfirmware and change it manually.

Yes that's the one. Dual 2ghz 64 bit processors and a gig of ram. I have 2 other servers that we are using for website hosting and have Cpanel installed on them. I was going to do the same thing with this Mac Xserve but I think we have decided to sell the old girl instead. We really don't need 3 servers for what we're doing. I will put it on ebay this week with a starting price of $800 unless someone here would like it they can make me an offer. It was given to us by my partner's father in law who works for Apple Computer. It was brand new in the box as of this week when I opened it.
