Suspend To RAM (S3) - Resume Fails
I am running Debian Etch, and have been trying to get "Suspend" to work on my machine. I get the same results whether it is called from Gnome Power Manager after being idle, or if I manually type:
echo "mem" >/sys/power/state
The machine powers down and suspends successfully, but when it resumes, I only get a blank screen. I thought it might be because I am using an NVidia video card, so I tried to suspend from the console after pressing Ctrl+Alt+F1 and then stopping X server and GDM. However, I still get the same blank screen on trying to resume.
The only thing I can do at that point is press the Reset button on my box. I actually have to press it twice to get it to work. Unfortunately, nothing of what happens is saved in syslog or any of the log files after I restart, so I have no way of tracing the problem.
Any advice on what the problem may be?
