Cool Squid Cache Flushing

Hello guys,
I've been using Squid for a couple of months, there are some vague points to me though.

1. How does squid detect if the page is new? Or if there are updates on the previously cached sites?

2. What is the default schedule or timing of Squid in flushing the cache?

Can you please help me clarify things. Thank you.

Hi,

1. Iam not quite sure how does squid detect updates for a cached webpages. I too have faced issues regarding this.

2. You can edit the default values for cache object replacement by configuring the parameters cache_swap_low & cache_swap_high in squid.conf

The squid-users mailing list would be the right place for you to get detailed information.
