Can you please run mintupdate from the Terminal and paste the output here. Thanks.

Just out of interest, why did you move to Mint 17 when the latest version is 18.3?

Ok. Let's check your path:

Code:
echo $PATH
and see if mintupdate is in fact installed (and is available through your software sources):

Code:
apt-cache policy mintupdate
You didn't reply to the question about why you installed Mint 17 and not Mint 18.3.

well it's simple - mintupdate is not installed.
the question is, why?
because i'm pretty sure it should be there by default.
did you mess around with software? maybe pressed enter at some point without having checked what you are agreeing to?

1- Go here:

https://community.linuxmint.com/soft...iew/mintupdate

2- Click the install button.

3- When it prompts you type in your password and hit the Enter key.

hello Ztcoracat , I went there when I click to Install coming this >> The address wasn’t understood

Firefox doesn’t know how to open this address, because one of the following protocols (apt) isn’t associated with any program or is not allowed in this context.

You might need to install other software to open this address.

Sorry it didn't work for you. I thought it would help.

Is mintupdate in your Software Center?

BTW, when you are prompted for your password in Linux the characters don't show.
This is normal with a lot of distributions.

Here's the instructions for the PPA--

If you don't see the screensaver in your Menu.......
Sometimes you have to use the terminal to kickoff the screensaver.

Open your terminal and try:

Code:
xscreensaver-demo
Than press Enter. The screensaver should open.
