save current kernel compiling work

Hello,

i need and want to compile a new kernel, but i will do this for first time. This means, that i will spend much time on it, maybe some days. Is it possible to save the current changes and continue some days later? I don't want to do allways the same work.

Kind regards.

Why don't you first have complete understanding on compiling a new kernel. Then after that you can go off with compiling the kernel smoothly. And there is no way to save the current changes and continue some days later unless you shutdown your system. It doesn't take that much time to compiling the kernel.
