I have LILO. Dual booting with Windows, but want to
one day eliminate that and substitute a backup copy of
my Linux main partition... ONE DAY SOON.
But LILO already had fits with one partition move.
How do I replace LILO with GRUB? I have CD's
for RedHat and understand that GRUB would be more
amenable even if I decide to keep a small Windows
bootable partition in, along with that NONBOOTABLE
LINUX COPY.
First get a hold of the grub tar.gz's or rpms and install them when in linux. Once installed you need to simply type "grub" in the command console and then you need to add your os and stuff but it should already be done for you but incase it isn't there is a tutorial on www.gentoo.org in the install section just go all the way down.
Thanks, therion,
but I must admit the GENTOO page threw me..
I went all through that site,
and I couldn't figure what you were referring me to,
not even at INSTALLATION.
Sorry.
I mentioned I had RedHat CD's right?
Then Grub will be on it, right?
Could it be an RPM?
