Removed fedora 16,and now laptop is not getting started with win7????

i was using both fedora 16 and win 7 in my laptop.i accidentally, cleared space allocated to fedora and reallocated it to drive d. when i restarted(assuming that it would start with win 7) a screen came showing "welcome to grub
error:no such partition
entering rescue mode
grub rescue>..."
and then nothing happened...it just went still.since then i have searched a lot on net but couldn't fix the problem.any solution will be very much appreciated.thanks in advance.

you WERE using the linux bootloader ( grub)
you left that installed but removed the software that WAS bootstrapping to windows

please see the microsoft help pages to get the instructions for REINSTALLING the MS bootloader

the OLD windows XP instructions are of NO USE
Redmond changed the procedure

If you installed GRUB to the MBR, it should be enough to format the MBR.

If you insert your windows recovery disc and reboot, and choose repair disk, and the automatic scan, it should pick up that your boot loader is missing and fix that for you.

Borrow or use a Windows 7 dvd (or usb with the PE wim on it) then use the repair tools to fix loader.

Otherwise you can try to fix grub.

hello everyone, sorry for replying so late but I had fixed the problem just after posting the query here(by some more search on internet) and the process was exactly like what you people are suggesting. I just used my own windows 7 cd and chose repair, and then fixed mbr(ms bootloader) though thanks for the answers everyone... cheers
