Red Hat9 + ATi Drivers + nForce2 Drivers

I'm having many problems with Redhat 9 and my nforce2 drivers. I've managed to get the ATi drivers installed but it put my monitor in power saving so i guess i selected a wrong setting there.

my kernel version for red hat is 2.4.20-8, so do i or don't i need to download the source packages? i downloaded the 2.4.80-9 update but it didn't create the modules

Anyway i'm really stuck so if anyone could give me a step by step guide to doing it and some stuff on config.

Oh when i install all of these things where should i be? pure console?

ofcource, you should be in textmode(runlevel 3) for nvidia display drivers, and if you didnt do so,it wont work.since your ati driver got installed,i guess there was no such problem with it.(otherwise it would have told you.).Always take care to read README.
about nforce, what is your problem??the one is http://www.nvidia.com/object/linux_nforce_1.0-0261

for the nforce drivers well i used the pre compiled RPM's just double clicked it said it installed and didn't create the nvnet or nvaudio modules :E

I then tried it using the pure console and it did the same thing.

Do i need to get the source RPM and compile it, if so how?
