I have an old Sunniwell Sbox 6100 IPTV box that I haven't used in a long time. It has a LAN port, a WAN port, and a A/V plug for the TV. I want to re-purpose it to run a small asterisk server.
The problem is, I cannot get into it. I have it connected to my network, and I'm trying to telnet into it. The prompt tells me uclibc login: and that's it. I tried root with a couple of passwords, but have no idea what the password could be. Any suggestions?
Hi,
I have no idea what this is, but since it's uclibc I'm guessing it's busybox. All I know is that it used to be my IPTV set-top box. I have no idea what hardware or software it runs. Is there any way of getting around restrictions on telnet?
Why not just contact sbox? They do not appear to be still selling the 6100. So I would imagine that they would have little problem with you installing your own OS.
How can I contact them? I was under the impression that the company went out of business two years ago...
EDIT: ah, sbox.tv. No, this isn't the same company. The 6100 is from an era when the company was called sunniwell. I doubt for some reason that Stinova (the current company) would know anything about the Sunniwell 6100. The giveaway is that Sunniwell was a Chinese company, whereas Stinova is German.

I would still give them a try. Beings as they are selling a similiar product with a similar name they are either connected or if not they probably have had inquires before. Either way all you are going to be out is an email.
From the look of the link below it would appear the Sunniwell was still in business as of a year ago.
