Your /lib/firmware directory has a RTL8192E, I am wondering if this is used by your system, and if it would be better to have a lib that has the exact name of your chipset. But I wouldn't know which package your distro would need to get it.
If it was my computer I would probably try to download a driver directly from realtek and compile it if needed. But I am not confident enough to be able to guide you through that process.
If you feel like trying you could go ahead and search "realtek driver RTL8192CU ubuntu" or similar.
Actually this driver is supposed to be in the kernel, I am just thinking that you may need a more recent version, so it might be worth a try...
