please help -- unable to print epson dx4400

hello

i have recently upgraded to openoffice 3 using the guide below and now i am unable to print.
everytime i try to print it says printer may not be connected.

i have tried the following to resolve issue but nothing has worked.

1. rebooting the system twice.
2. deleting the printer and then unpluging and plugging back in the printer.
3. lsmod (it is listing the printer)
4. scanner part of printer is still working.
