Phone dialer on Linux Mint

Hi all,

I am using my USB datacard to access 3G internet on my LinuxMint 12 (Lisa).
However, I want to use my datacard for making/receiving calls.
Is there a software which provides me a dialer to access my phone no registered in the datacard?

Since I have limited data plan, I would also need to check the status/balance by sending an USSD code from the datacard.

Please let me know if there is any way to dial phone nos from the desktop.

Thank you in advance

-Chakradhar
