partition size recommendations slack13.37

I'm working with an older machine using 79GB HD ad wondered what the recommended partition sizes might be for swap, home, and usr? Loading Slackware 13.37 as required by this task.

Hi:

As a standard I make the (ext 3 or 4) / 'journaling file system' 20 GB and the 'swap' 1 GB-

Creating the partition for the journaling file system depends on how big the disrtribution is:-
Home/, Root/, and Boot/ 1 to 2 GB but everyone's preferences are different.

You could look at documentation on the Install DVD or online: Slackware-HOWTO

Slackware Doc Project is a good source for new users. Look at: Slackware installation & Configure your new Slackware System

Hope this helps.
