oh no! something has gone wrong on Dell Inspiron

I purchased a Dell 3552 (Celeron N3050,2GB Ram) with Ubuntu Pre-installed
I formatted and installed kali linux 2.0 but when I boot it appears the message oh no something has gone wrong
I run these commands but the problem persists

Apt-get install x-window-system
Apt-get-update
Apt-get install xorg
startx

Also when I type gnome-shell it appears the message
Clutter-CRITICAL **: Unable to initialize Clutter: Unable to open display. You have to set the DISPLAY environment variable, or use the --display command line argument
I also Run dpkg-reconfigure gnome-shell

Please can you help me
Thank you very much

Did you format the partition(s) on which you had Ubuntu?
Kali is designed to run from a DVD or flash as well as being designed for experts in computer forensics. If you're not an expert, you would have been much better off just trying it from a DVD or flash drive.

You didn't actually use an upper case A in the apt-get command did you?
What output did you get from those commands? Are you able to boot Kali after the message "when I boot it appears the message oh no something has gone wrong"?

Yes I formatted the partition where was ubuntu
At first i tried it with live usb Flash and the there was no difference i had the same message ''oh no! something has gone wrong"
I Press Ctrl-Alt-F1 and login as a root .

I Run these commands with lower-case and i had this output

apt-get install x-window-system
Note,selecting 'xorg' instead of x-window-system

apt-get-update
It fetched some updates

apt-get install xorg
Reading package lists... Done
Reading State information... Done
xorg is already the newest version
0 is upgraded,0 newly installed,0 to remoeve and 5 not upgraded

startx

It Runs, appears Black Screen about 10 seconds and then I have the same message ''oh no! something has gone wrong"

Thank you for your reply

This is the error message.

"Clutter-CRITICAL **: Unable to initialize Clutter: Unable to open display. You have to set the DISPLAY environment variable, or use the --display command line argument"

so , did you check the log files ?

just a guess, try setting the DISPLAY variable.

#export DISPLAY=":0.0"
and then
#startx

Very short life span in Kali too... plus, this relates:

Definitely reminds me of display issues (Xorg) tho it's been so long since I've dealt with them...

I agree like Yancek said , kali is more suitable for a forensic analysis or pentesting similar environment rather than a proper desktop distribution as far as I can tell.

If you are new to GNU\Linux or not I can guarantee you won't get Kali to last longer than (or up to) six months.

I don't want Kali for daily use desktop distribution .I use Mint linux on my Desktop and Windows for gaming . I want it for testing/experimenting purposes

I remember in the past I was able to run earlier version - Backtrack Linux on bare metal - an old Asus Laptop but this time I ran out of luck

Thank you all for your replies
