No sound from hp dv5 speakers

Hi all,

I bought a new hp pavilion dv5 notebook with vista built in, i've removed it and installed enterpise linux release 5,the sound was working on vista but now i am only able to receive sound from my headphones but not from built in speakers,
i've tried different tips displayed in many forums but nothing worked for me, can any body help me about this issue?

thanks,
