Greetingz!
First make a backup copy of the plugin within /usr/local/lib/nessus/plugins;
cp -p /usr/local/lib/nessus/plugins/plugin_name ~/plugin_name.backup
Then put the new plugin in the directory.
Should work without a problem!
However, I'm curious; is this a custom plugin, or one that's just not updated/installed by Nessus itself?
