moving zorin os from 1TB ext hdd to 8 GB flash

I have zorin downloaded and installed onto my hard drive, but i want to make it more so a back up. i am using a laptop and am tired of sittin at the desk but dont have enough room on my internal for the os. i was wondering how i could go about taking everything from the hdd and stickin on the flash. im thinking its a simple copy and paste but im just a little terrified that ill screw something up. any ideas?
