Hello, more issues with BIND9 again
Anyway, my last post I was helped, thank you, until I rebooted once again, and BIND9 died.
So now I rebooted the system, more so a force shutdown, and my DNS servers wont resolve after 72 hours. They would usually be: ns1.imposinghosting.com and ns2.imposinghosting.com but, like I said, they won't resolve. I believe I have configured everything correctly in Webmin, considering I followed a tutorial... Anyway, when I try to access my test website which I pointed to the DNS servers, I get this error:
Quote:
This webpage is not available
The webpage at http://jacob8432.co.cc/ might be temporarily down or it may have moved permanently to a new web address.
Error 137 (net::ERR_NAME_RESOLUTION_FAILED): Unknown error.

So does that mean that I failed teriably at DNS? Do you guys want the config files?
Also, I keep getting this strange error in Webmin for Bind9 when trying to save a configuring, and rebooting BIND9:
Quote:
/etc/bind/named.conf.options:23: expected IPv4 address or '*' near ';'
|
This is my named.conf.options file:
Quote:
options {
directory "/var/cache/bind";
// If there is a firewall between you and nameservers you want
// to talk to, you may need to fix the firewall to allow multiple
// ports to talk. See http://www.kb.cert.org/vuls/id/800113
// If your ISP provided one or more IP addresses for stable
// nameservers, you probably want to use them as forwarders.
// Uncomment the following block, and insert the addresses replacing
// the all-0's placeholder.
// forwarders {
// 0.0.0.0;
// };
auth-nxdomain no; # conform to RFC1035
listen-on port 53 {
192.168.1.117;
};
// transfer-source;
// transfer-source;
transfer-source;
};
|
But it is odd, really. Because when I comment out the transfer-sources, it works fine until I save a new config, when it regenerates. Thanks guys for all the help!
