/mnt/cdrom (RH) versus /media/cdrecorder (Fedora)

Hi:
Just installed my first Fedora boa and am wondering why the CD device is called /media/cdrecorder rather than /mnt/cdrom as it is on mu RH boxes. Further, I don't see /dev/cdrom on the Fedora box?

Could be down as /dev/sr0 or something...or even /dev/hdc (or hdd). My CDdrive is on secondary slave IDE and is /dev/hdc. On my slackware box, /dev/cdrom is just a symlink to /dev/sr0 anyway.

The name of the mounted volume doesn't really matter. /media/cdrecorder and /mnt/cdrom are just as good, but if it's bothering you, you could always create an empty directory /mnt/cdrom and change your /etc/fstab file to mount the cd drive there instead.

It appears that FC3 changed the mount points for removeable media from /mnt to /media (like SuSE). It really doesn't matter.

Usually /dev/cdrom is a link that points to the actual cdrom device.

Also look at /etc/fstab file.
