Im having problems installing Mandrake on my System. It installs off the Live CD, goes to the LILO configuration Screen, configures correctly and then asks me to reboot the system.
On rebooting the VISTA bootloader Pops up instead of LILO, The Linux partitions are still there, but the bootloader doesnt seem to be working.
Sorry I am Using GRUB not LILO, but it doesnt seem to work with Vista 64 bit. It isnt writing to the boot sector, Ive never had this problem with XP in the past.
Did you choose to install Grub to the master boot record or are you trying to boot with the vista bootloader. You said when you boot the vista bootloader comes up which would be an indication you don't have Grub in the mbr.
Use your Mandrake Live CD, let it load and log in to a terminal and run the command: fdisk -l, as root user and post it here. That will give us your partition information.
Managed to use a bootloader (Acronis OS Selector) to install and boot either Mandrake or Vista, but it is not Ideal, When you pick vista It takes you to the Vista Boot Menu, and when you pick Linux it takes you to Mandrivas. I really want a single menu.
I will Look tomorrow and post the fdisk info tomorrow night,
Thanks for your help, it is apreciated.
