Mandrake 10.0 Gnome/KDE Taskbar icon settings...are there settings?

Hi guys, I finally got my Mandrake 10.0 goin smooth, ALL MY HARDWARE WORKS! I had a problem with totem player, but I just uninstalled it and installed Mplayer and everything's fine. There are some weird issues, like my left channel of my soundcard being off when i login even tho my alsamixer says that it's all the way up, I have to go in and lower the volume one notch then move it back up...weird. Anyway to my question. Is there a setting to change the icon sizes on the taskbar in either Gnome or KDE? I couldn't find any. Basically I have my taskbar sized so that I get two rows of window lists, but my icons that I have on my taskbar are just one rows of big icons...very ugly. I was wondering if anyone could tell me if it's possible to have the icons sized smaller so that I can have two rows of application icons on my taskbar?

I think you are talking about the icons next to the K Menu (start) button? If so then I'm pretty sure that those icons will always line up side-by-side. I dont think you can get them one over the other.

About the sound problem, once you boot and set your volume then try this as root:
alsactl -store
or maybe
alsactl store
