The command 'lshw' will show you the brand of system board. It is a root command, and is not installed by default. This means you will have to go to your package manager and install it first.

Here is what it outputs on my system.

Quote:
description: Desktop Computer
product: M61SME-S2 ()
vendor: Gigabyte Technology Co., Ltd.
width: 64 bits
capabilities: smbios-2.4 dmi-2.4 vsyscall64 vsyscall32
configuration: boot=normal chassis=desktop uuid=30303144-3744-3230-4634-3637
This is the first few lines, there is a lot more.

Hi,

lshal also provides this information (might be installed by default).
Code:
lshal | grep -i board
Hope this helps.
