Red Hat Linux 9 install problems-it stalls when trying open GUI,

is it because mainboard not pentium?

it's a PC chips M787CL+ Series, V3.0A,CPU Type VIA C3- mainboard supports VIA Samuel2 1Giga Pro processor ?

it stalls when trying open GUI,

Kernel panic:attempted to kill the idle task!
"in idle task.not syncing"
