Question Installed/running Linux Mint in a virtual machine using vmware to see how it runs on my system

Hello all! I'm a previous Linux Mint user (although it's been many years) and am now trying to test it out on my laptop(runs Win10 and says my chipset isn't supported in win11 - I'm disabled and living on social security disability, so I really can't afford to just buy a newer laptop.
I downloaded the latest release of L.M. (64-bit,cinnamon desktop) and installed it in a virtualbox virtual machine, but it keeps telling me to install the correct video drivers as hardware acceleration isn't currently enabled. For that matter, maybe Virtualbox wouldn't really give me an accurate idea of how l.m. would run on my hardware anyway?(b/c it's "virtual"). If you agree, how can I create a 'live usb' to test it?
Thanks very much for your help!

btw, my PC (from 'about'): Device name DadB2W10
Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-6820HQ CPU @ 2.70GHz 2.71 GHz
Installed RAM 16.0 GB (15.8 GB usable)
Device ID DF9A0EAB-FFCE-4939-8CD4-C33EF0D766F3
Product ID xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx
System type 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor
Pen and touch No pen or touch input is available for this display

To create a Mint bootable USB flash drive download Etcher and install the ISO per the installation guide.
https://linuxmint-installation-guide...test/burn.html

To take advantage of better graphics and video acceleration you can install VirtualBox guest additions.

Your correct since VirtualBox the only way to really see how it works with your real hardware is to boot from a USB flash drive.

I have Mint 20 running in a VirtualBox VM and it works just fine.

Your title says vmware, but the text says virtualbox. ?? Which are you really using.

You obviously had some kind if install device to install it on the VM, unless you did so directly from an iso file on the host.

In any case, the post above tells you how to create a USB device from the iso image that can be used to test the hardware directly.

My apologies - it's virtualbox
