Installation of Printer Canon LBP 2900B


Dear friends please help me with the installation of my new printer on Ubuntu 11.10.
(Canon LBP 2900B )
I don't have any programming knowledge and i,am new to Linux.
I don't want to switch back to windows.
Please help me with step by step.
For past 4-5 days i,am trying to install it; but with no success.
If any one can chat on line and help me with the installation will be best option :-)

If you don't have the driver, you can get it here:

This website gives instructions for installing:
http://www.unixmen.com/index.php?opt...rials&Itemid=2

Where it tells you to start with "su -", the Ubuntu equivalent is "sudo bash".

I have tried the one you said, but i gives me following error:-

shree@shree-desktop:~$ su -
Password:
su: Authentication failure
shree@shree-desktop:~$

So how do i go through next step ?

I did tell you not to use "su -", but "sudo bash"!
