i18n Settings

Hi,

I've just moved my sites from a Raq4 server to an ensim server. In doing so, the i18n settings are obviously different. Now, for example, all typed £ signs, appear as an question mark or error (and unfortunately one of the sites is a UK shoppers comparison forum so the whole thing looks quite bad).

My old raq4 settings in etc/sysconfig/i18n were:

LANG=en_US
LC_ALL=en_US
LINGUAS=en_US

while my new ones were

LANG="en_US.UTF-8"
SUPPORTED="en_US.UTF-8:en_US:en"
SYSFONT="latarcyrheb-sun16"

I have changed them so that is the same as the old RaQ4 and restarted the webserver by using /etc/rc.d/init.d/httpd restart but nothing has changed. Is there something else I need to do or change?

Please help!

What distribution are you using.
try changing "LINGUAS=en_US" to "LINGUAS=en_GB"

Fedora I think.

I have changed the i18n file to en_GB.

I think it may have worked. All new forum postings seem to be OK; some of the older ones, for some reason, are not formatted properly, but this is relatively small beer.

Thanks!
