how to take system backup like system restore in windows


how to take the complete system backup so that in case of error system can be restore to that point.

From what I read and experienced that is the easiest is Clonezilla. I haven't tried a back up yet but as for making a copy of the HDD its easy. There are many guides on clonezilla just google it.

Clonecopies are not necessary with linux. You want a rsync script like draksync, as an example.
It manages as many generations of backup files as you want. And, it duplicates unchanged files as hardlinks saving diskspace.
